Can I get a doctor here?
by Nic Olson
Ok. I don’t really know what to say about this one, but I felt it needed to be shared.. I was at the tennis court, sitting and watching a match, and I saw a tube of something sitting next to me. I picked it up to see what it was. This is what it was.

Sure, looks like a regular HIV free gel, right? If that isn’t weird enough, check out the ingredients.
In case you couldn’t read that, it says ‘0.1grams of fresh Human Placenta’. Now, I will be the first to admit that I don’t know much about this word, but I do know that it is gross, and that I wouldn’t want to rub it on my burns or bedsores. I am no doctor, or even close, that is why I am doing this blog, I just wanted to know, is this normal? Do we have products made of this ‘Fresh’ ingredient, in Canada?
Anyway, now I think I am going to go throw up for a few days, getting this thought out of my mind. Sorry about this. I’ve shared everything of my trip so far, why stop now?
aaaaaaaahahahaman i laughed to the max over that.sweet.you know what’s weird? no joke, just earlier this week i wrote you a comment that said “of all the people i know you are doing the coolest things.” but then i deleted it before i posted it because i was like “well. i guess blair has a kid, and matt has a band, and jeremy has a peatree dish, kris has a tattoo, etc….and those are all cool things too…”but i still stand by the statement, i figure. so thanks for the props. since we’re pretty much the two biggest deals in the world now, we should go for coffee some month.
you should totally bring that stuff home for jeremy. he’d love it.i looked in my drug book. and didn’t find this sketchy stuff. which is a very good indicator that we don’t have it in canada…at least not for approved use. but i searched it on the internet and discovered they use it for wound healing..most likely because fresh placenta is very vascular (aka has lots of blood vessels to perfuse tissue). believe it or not people do all kinds of weird things with placentas…such as freeze them and make soup. and they’re all the rage with celebrities for anti-aging creams. mmmmm.sorry to prolong the length of your vomiting.
o man.that is like the max for you. easily one of the sickest things. and if i find it gross, i cant imagine what you are feeling…..ew. ew.
some women eat their placentas after giving birth, but some just bury them in their yard (good fertilizer). but some just let the doctors discard of them.
there was someone in dauphin that buried their placentas in the yard… i will spare you the mental image of who that was. i heard it is used in pantene pro v shampoo… have refrained from using it since.
i cant believe you touched that.
To elaborate on Amanda’s story:I heard they buried them in their yard after they had their kid (which I believe was in their house) and then planted a tree over top of it. One for each kid.
Umm, uh, hmm. John
don’t bring it home. it looks like an illegal drug. auntieDaphne
