• inspiration.

there are a few things these days that i have realized inspire me.

    1. Road trips. My past two or three years have been full of many road trips to many different places, often with totally different people. I have gone to North Dakota for the World Junior Hockey Championships, I have gone to Canmore, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Yellowknife, Weyburn, La Ronge, and so many other places, with such cool people. Road trips are a special thing to me, because they really let you get to know people on a different level. People, new places, random adventures, and all the beautiful things that come with road trips fill me with energy and smiles. Sitting in a car for hours can lead you to sing awfully loud to Kelly Clarkson, and play air guitar to Dragon Force, all as a team. Going on adventures with people that are special to you, is something that cannot be beat..

    2. Music. This one comes especially after seeing means and Every New Day this week. First off, both band’s music is unbelieveable, some may say, ‘crumbalieveable!’. Means play a style of music with so much energy and they do it with passion. Every New Day play music that when I hear it, I instantly smile and get butterflies in my stomach. Both bands are full of amazing talent, and they use this to worship and praise God. Wow!

thats it. I love road trips, and I love music. Both inspire me to live my life with adventure and passion.. Yes! This blog gets me excited!

by the way, my new pictures site is up, and its neat… http://nicholasolson.myphotoalbum.com

  • Memories.

The boys and I. Looking fine.

  • Labour Day

it is labour day, and my first day of ‘big boy’ school is tomorrow. it seems like a big deal, at least people make it seem that it is a big deal… i don’t really know why. maybe i’ll find out. i haven’t really thought about school at all since i registered, until the past 6 hours.. i didn’t know what classes i had until today.
i think this was a good idea, so i didn’t have to think about anything school related until the last day of summer.

it was also today, that i dealt with that weird feeling that i think might be stress. thinking about my classes, cars, textbooks, tuition and all that crap made me feel all dirty inside and even made me fall to the ground and cringe numerous times. my whole summer, i had little to no stress put on me, and then all of this came crashing down on me in one day.. but i’m fine.

soon enough i’ll be old enough to buy smokes, smut and be able to gamble.. then i’ll almost be a real ‘old person’. we all know i love those three things.

i sure hope people can understand sarcasm through the computer screen, or else i may be in trouble.

  • Beer Fest.

As you will soon learn, my titles have nothing to do with my actual blog.. but I did see Beerfest today at the theatres, and it was hilarious.

Lately, I have been thinking about education. Questioning it, and everything about it. Learning things is great, but the actual ‘education process’ seems a bit like a prolonged shot in the nuts. Today, while playing a calm game of Sudoku in my room, listening to some tunes, I remembered my last day of Grade 12. It was on this day, that I learned how to properly write the number nine from my math teacher, Dr. Tony Nickel. Before this, for 11+ years I was writing the number nine in a way that made it look like a four. My last day of high school is when I learned how to write a nine..

I bet all the answers I ever got wrong in math, we because I thought that one number was a 4 instead of a 9… brutal.

In less than a week, I go to university for the first time. Maybe they’ll teach me how to write the number five properly, because that one has always pissed me off a little.

  • Arabian Goggles.

If you know what arabian goggles are, I’m sorry that my first blog has that title.
If you do not know what arabian goggles are, you do not want to know.

After many hours debating in my head whether starting a blog was worth it or not, here I am and ‘partying since 1988’ is born. Almost everyday as I sit alone in the car, I come up with some amazingly hilarious things that I would put in a book, if I ever became an author. Since I will never become an author, this is my new place for those amazing book-worthy thoughts.

I doubt I will have anything profound to say, or that this will benefit anyone at all, but it is a place for me to put down my thoughts so I can sort out my thoughts in a organized way, and I would be glad if anyone would want to share this with me.

    more to come…
